About uDot

uDot is developing the world’s first personal touchscreen tactile interface comprising 6-8000 miniature raisable dots refreshing at 5 times a second. With this technological breakthrough, users can touch and access GUIs, Braille, Graphics, Animations and other complex information.

Their company is building super cool educational interventions on this technology to transform learning outcomes for 17 million visually impaired children globally.

Internship Description

• uDot is seeking exceptional aspiring engineers who have a passion for innovation and a track record of working on remarkable projects. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with the founder during the early stages of scaling a groundbreaking intervention.
• You will work on site out of Innovation Centre ,IIIT Bangalore
• The duration of the internship is a minimum of 4 months( Starting from January)
• A PPO can be offered based on performance
• Stipend of Rs.18,000 per month

Responsibilities

• Ideate and make critical decisions essential to product development.
• Build cutting-edge micro actuators and assembly systems for lakhs of tiny components.
• Develop interconnected devices with precision and efficiency.
• Component Selection:
• Assist in identifying suitable components, materials based on project requirements.
• Conduct research and collaborate to make informed decisions for optimal functionality.
• Design, Simulation, Fabrication and Assembly of PCBs and Mechanical Components based on design requirements and constraints. Implement best practices throughout this iterative cycle
• Microcontroller Programming:
• Write efficient and reliable code for diverse input, control and interfacing with various electronic
• components using microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi
• Collaborate with the software team to integrate hardware and software components.
• Testing and Debugging:
• Set up and conduct elaborate yet time bound tests to evaluate and optimize complex systems.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify and address any issues.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate documentation of specifications, designs, and project progress.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to the team, communicating project status, challenges
• and recommendations effectively
