About the Program
The School of Chemical Sciences (SCS) at NISER offers an engaging summer internship program, where participants work on cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of SCS faculty members. This two-month program typically takes place between May and July.
In addition to the core project work, participants have the opportunity to engage in various activities organized by SCS, including seminars on current research in diverse fields and visits to different research laboratories at NISER. Students from across India who are interested are encouraged to apply for the program.
Eligibility
Students pursuing BSc/MSc /Integrated MSc degree with Chemistry as a major subject.
Stipend
Stipend: A limited number of students who are not receiving funding from any agency for their summer internship will be provided a stipend of ₹5,000/- per month, along with sleeper class railway or bus fare. The stipend and travel reimbursement will be transferred to the students’ bank accounts upon successful completion of the internship.
Accomodation
Accommodation facilities are limited and subject to availability. It will be provided at a charge of ₹30/- per day, along with a refundable caution deposit of ₹2,000/-. The decision of the institute regarding this program will be final and binding on all candidates, and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

How to Apply?
Interested candidates are required to first contact the faculty members of the School of Chemical Sciences (SCS), NISER, under whom they wish to pursue their summer internship, via email. Only upon receiving confirmation from the faculty member agreeing to supervise the candidate should the application for the program be submitted. The application form must be fully completed and countersigned by the Head of the Department or Institution. Additionally, the email consent from the faculty supervisor must be attached to the application form. Soft copies of the completed application, certificates, mark sheets, email communications, and other relevant documents should be submitted to the concerned faculty member and also forwarded to scsoffice@niser.ac.in. Please note that incomplete applications will summarily berejected.
