About IIT Dharwad
Indian Institute of Technology dhArwAD (IITdh) is one of the 6 nos. of 3rd Generation (3-G) IITs, which are being established by Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI). It was started in August 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay [which is the second oldest among the 23 IITs now – established way back in 1958, and which is also the most sought after IIT among the qualified candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, who eventually join the undergraduate (UG) programs in IITs.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics, humanities or other allied streams from an accredited [officially recognized] Indian universities.
- Applicant must have a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 65% till the just finished semester or earlier semester [if the results for the recent semester are not out at the time of application].
- Applicant must be available full time [40 hours per week] during the timeframe of the internship
Duration
Up to 2 months there will be paid internship within the timeframe of 1st May to 15th July, 2024. Interns must leave the IIT dhArwAD campus on or before 15th of July.

Stipend
A Stipend/Renumeration of ₹ 5,000/month [for a maximum 2 months] will be paid. There is no provision for travel support for any selected intern.
A free of cost accommodation will be provided to all the selected interns in our hostels, subject to availability. Mess charges will be as per IIT dhArwAD students rate.
Selection Procedure
Selection procedure will be conducted by the respective departments after the application deadline.
Certification
Internship certificate will be provided by IIT dhArwAD ONLY to those interns whose performance is certified by the faculty mentor as “Excellent/Good/Satisfactory”. Interns with unsatisfactory performance [as decided by their faculty mentor] may not be allowed to continue and/or may not be provided an internship certificate. This internship certificate will be issued by the Academic office only on the recommendation by the faculty mentor.
