About IIT Dharwad

The Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) is one of the third-generation (3-G) IITs established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI). It was founded in August 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. The institute began its academic journey in the 2016-17 academic year, offering four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programs in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE).

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or post graduate student pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, or other allied streams from an accredited (officially recognized) Indian institute/university.
• The applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 65% in the most recently completed semester (or earlier semester if the results for the current semester are not yet available at the time of application).
• The applicant must be available full-time for a minimum of 1 or 2 months during the internship period at IIT dhArwAD campus.

Internship Duration

• The Summer Internship has a maximum duration of two (2) months, from 12th May 2025 to 15th July 2025.
• The minimum recommended duration for the internship is one (1) month.

Application Process

• Applications must be submitted through the portal hosted at IIT DHARWAD website.
• Submission of application is not allowed after the due date.
• Submitting application is free.
• Please keep the below documents ready before submitting the application
• Recent Photograph
• Latest Resume
• Latest Marksheet
• Bonafide Certificate issued by your college/institute with the Principal/Institute’s head seal and signature
• Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Timeline

Stipend and Certificate

• There is no provision of stipend, travel support or any kind of monitory benefits to any selected intern.
• An internship certificate will be provided to interns whose performance is certified by faculty mentor as Excellent/Good/Satisfactory.
• Interns with unsatisfactory performance (as determined by their respective faculty mentors) may not be allowed to continue and/or may not be issued an internship certificate.

Accommodation

• Free accommodation and food (from the hostel mess) will be provided by IIT DHARWAD for all the selected interns in the institute’s hostels subject to availability.
• No additional charges (Water, Electricity) will be imposed on the selected interns.

Selection Procedure

• Preliminary screening of applications followed by an interview (online mode) by the faculty mentor of IIT Dharwad.
• Selected candidates shall be informed through emails only.
• No separate communication shall be sent to non-selected candidates.
• The decision of IIT dhArwAD shall be final in the selection of candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.

• Step II: Complete the Section 3 (Select the department and the faculty mentors of your interest)
• Step III: Complete the Section 14 (Upload the requested documents)
• Step IV: Complete the Section 15 (Answer the miscellaneous questions)
