About Wadhwani School of Data Science & AI

The School, founded in 2024, is dedicated to fostering close collaboration between domain experts and AI researchers to develop solutions that integrate artificial intelligence with existing domain knowledge and methodologies. Its degree programs are designed to cultivate interdisciplinary thinking and data-driven problem-solving among students. The overarching vision of the School is to create a globally competitive environment for research and teaching, with a strong focus on AI for Healthcare, specifically within the Indian context.

As the 18th and newest department at IIT Madras, the Department of Data Science and AI brings together a diverse faculty with expertise across various fields of Data Science and AI. The School aims to address impactful societal challenges through its research. With a range of affiliated research centers and a dynamic research ecosystem, it supports multiple interest groups centered on innovative areas of study. The School offers several academic programs, including a BTech in AI & Data Analytics, an MTech in Data Science and AI, and various offerings for international students.

Eligibility Criteria

The internship is open to students who are in pre-final year of their 4-year Under graduation/1st year of their 2-year post-graduation (Regular/Full-time in Engineering or Science) in any Indian University/Educational Institution.

Students from any Indian university or educational institution who meet the qualifications listed below are eligible to apply!

Pre Final year/Sixth Semester of their Four Year (Regular/ Full time) Under Graduation (Engineering or Science)
Pre Final year of their Five Year Dual Degree Programs with Engineering
First year of their two years Post Graduation

Internship Details

Internship will start from April 2025.
The period will be a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months per intern.
This is an in-person summer internship and interns will get a stipend.
Accommodation will not be provided for the interns.
You have to submit a bonafide certificate from your Institute before your appointment.
