Eligibility Criteria
- Engineering Department:
- UG and PG degrees in engineering with PhD in a relevant branch/discipline of engineering OR
- Integrated UG and PG in engineering, and PhD in relevant branch/discipline of engineering OR
- UG in engineering, and integrated PG and PhD in relevant branch/discipline of engineering. For the Candidates having a PhD degree in engineering directly after graduation (B E/B Tech etc.), the candidates should have either BE/ BTech or PhD from CFTI.
- Those candidates will also be considered provided they fulfil other norms.
- Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics & Computing:
- PhD with BSc (3 years/4 years) and MSc (in appropriate branch) or Integrated MSc with PhD in appropriate branch.
- Management:
- PhD in Management with any Bachelor’s degree (3/4 years) and MBA or equivalent Master’s degree in Management or equivalent PGDM (2 years) as per Association of Indian Universities, or PhD in Management with integrated Master’s degree in Management.
- Humanities:
- PhD in Humanities with any bachelor’s degree (3/4 years) and master’s degree in the appropriate branch of Humanities or PhD in Humanities with an integrated master’s degree in the appropriate branch of Humanities.
- All new entrants should have PhD in the relevant or equivalent discipline and should have first class (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA) in preceding degrees. New entrant means a candidate who is not an existing faculty member of Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar.
Experience
Experience (including prior to implementation of NIRF) shall be considered if acquired in any of the following Institutions:
- Fully funded Central Educational Institutions.
- IIMs and other Management Institutions ranked by NIRF up to 50 for any two years.
- State Educational Institutions funded by the respective State Government.
- Other Educational Institutions ranked by NIRF up to 100 overall, in the Universities o Engineering Institutions category for any two years. In case the Institution in which the candidate is working/has worked does not fulfil the NIRF criteria, the NIRF ranking of the University to which the Institution is/was affiliated shall be considered.
- Experience in overseas Institutes/Universities where the QS / THE ranking is up to 50 anytime during the last three years preceding the date of advertisement.
- Experience as a Post-Doctoral fellow (PDF) will be considered for the appointment to the post of Assistant Professor up to Pay Level 12

Age Limit
Fresh appointment beyond the age of 60 years is discouraged except in the case of faculty with exceptionally brilliant research/academic career and with ongoing or approved externally funded research project(s).
