Selection Process
For Assistant
- Tier 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- Topics: English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude (20 questions each).
- Total Marks: 100 (1 mark per correct answer, -0.25 for wrong answers).
- Time: 90 minutes.
- Minimum Passing Marks: 50% (UR/OBC).
- Tier 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
- Tasks: Typing, Excel sheet preparation, PowerPoint slides.
- Typing speed: 45 w.p.m. (English) or 40 w.p.m. (Hindi).
- Total Marks: 20 (qualifying only, need 50% i.e., 10 marks).
- Time: 60 minutes.
- Experience Bonus: Up to 5 extra marks for relevant work experience:
- 1-2 years: 1 mark
- 2-4 years: 2 marks
- 4-6 years: 3 marks
- 6-8 years: 4 marks
- 8+ years: 5 marks
- Final Merit: CBT score (95%) + Experience (5%) = 100%. Top candidates (1:10 ratio) move to CPT, and final selection is based on this score if CPT is cleared.
For Upper Division Clerk (UDC) & Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

- Same as Assistant (100 MCQs, 100 marks, 90 minutes, negative marking).
- Minimum Passing Marks:
- UR/EWS/OBC: 50%
- SC: 40%
- Tier 2: Computer Skill Test (Typing)
- Qualifying only: 35 w.p.m. (English) or 30 w.p.m. (Hindi).
- Experience Bonus: Same as Assistant (up to 5 marks).
- Final Merit: CBT score (95%) + Experience (5%) = 100%. Top candidates (1:10 ratio) move to the typing test, and final selection is based on this score if the typing test is cleared.
Exam Syllabus (Same for All Posts)
- English Language: Comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, idioms.
- General Knowledge: Indian history, geography, economy, polity, science, awards, sports, current affairs.
- Reasoning: Analogies, series, coding-decoding, relationships.
- Computer Aptitude: Basics of computers, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IT concepts.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Math topics like percentages, ratios, time/work, algebra, data interpretation.
Note: Difficulty level matches the required qualification (degree for Assistant/UDC, 12th for LDC).
