Role
- The data and AI Development team is looking for an enthusiastic and talented DevOps Engineer to join us. Our services belong to the AI Governance product portfolio.
- IBM services are tightly integrated with IBM Cloud Pak for Data where customers can access a suite of leading data and AI capabilities in a unified experience.
- As a DevOps Developer, you will contribute to a thriving and growing New Engineering team.
- You will work in a Kubernetes-based microservices environment to support our bleeding-edge cloud services.
- This will include custom solutions, as well as open-source DevOps tools (build and deploy automation, monitoring and data gathering for our software delivery pipeline).
- You will also be contributing to our continuous improvement and continuous delivery while increasing the maturity of DevOps and agile adoption practices.

Responsibilities
- As a DevOps Developer, you will contribute to thriving and growing services that belong to the IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog product and Match360/MDM portfolio.
- You will work in a Kubernetes-based microservices environment to support our leading-edge cloud services.
- This will include custom solutions, as well as open-source DevOps tools (build and deploy automation, monitoring
- and data gathering for our software delivery pipeline).
- You will also be contributing to our continuous improvement and continuous delivery while increasing the maturity of DevOps and agile adoption practices.
Technical Expertise
- 2-5 years of professional/industrial experience in DevOps development
- Working Knowledge of Kubernetes or Openshift (OCP), Ansible Operators, Docker and Helm charts
- Ability to work on Linux Operating system environments
- Experience in any one cloud (IBM Cloud / AWS / Azure/ GCP)
- Ability to write Ansible and Python/shell or any Unix scripts.
- Working knowledge of Git as a source control system and defect tracking system
- Ability to deploy software using orchestrators/scripts/Automation on Hybrid and Public clouds.
- Ability to create pipelines using Jenkins or any CI/CD tool.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot build and deployment issues.
- Ability to use tools for faster resolution of issues.
- Excellent communication and soft skills
- Passionate and ability to work and deliver in a multi-team environment.

- Flexible and quick learner
Preferred Skill Sets
- Ability to write code in Core Java, SQL / NO SQL, exposure to Graph DB
- Experience in Redhat OpenShift, Jenkins or Tekton, Gradle, monitoring software (Instana, Grafana etc), Linux System experience and Administration would be an added advantage
- Ability to review deployment and operational environments, i.e., execute initiatives to reduce failure,
- Effective cross-functional leadership skills: working with engineering and operational teams to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and reliable.
- troubleshoot issues across the entire infrastructure stack, expand monitoring capabilities and manage technical operations.
