Job Description: Associate Engineer at D. E. Shaw

  • They are looking for a Tech Associate for our Quality and Test Engineering team.
  • The team is responsible for ensuring the quality of different kinds of applications.

Role

  • The candidate should also have strong communication skills, enabling them to work with key business stakeholders to understand requirements and shape analytical deliverables.
  • Candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to work cross-organizationally.
  • A keen sense of ownership and drive is a must.
  • The role will work with a diverse set of data and cross-functional teams as well as use data to drive process improvement.
  • An ideal engineer is one who enjoys discovering and solving ambiguous problems, can quickly learn complex systems, and enjoys building actionable insights from data.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for delivering quality features and products by documenting and executing test cases for different features as well as maintaining and executing automated tests.
  • You will have to understand various system components and expand testing scope.
  • You will be expected to exhibit ownership and consistently increase your expertise in the specific area of work.

Qualification

  • An impressive educational background, Preferably with any degree in computer science with no backlogs
  • Good problem solving skills with excellent functional testing skills
  • Hands-on exposure to test case execution manually and through tools

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS Engineering or related field
  • Fluent English language skills are required.
  • Demonstrated skill and passion for problem-solving and operational excellence
  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot and describe complex technical processes and issues.
  • Clear and effective communication & documentation skills
