Job Description
Engineering Technical Writers at MathWorks create content that helps users tackle engineering problems. New candidates typically start in the Engineering Development Group (EDG), where they undergo extensive training, mentoring, and coaching. This foundation prepares them to transition into the role of Engineering Technical Writer within the Documentation Organization.
Responsibilities
As an Engineering Technical Writer, you will:
- Create clear and concise documentationto help customers effectivelyutilize the software.
- Demonstrate features, workflows, and applications with goal-oriented topics and examples for our customers.
- Build product and technical knowledge by researching the technical domain and customer workflows to support our customers and respond to inquiries.
- Review and respond to product developments, providing industry insights and participating in prototype testing to enhance user experience.
- Lead through initiative, process improvements, and mentorship, fostering growth and efficiency within the team.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Additional
- Bachelors degree with 0-2 years of relevant work experience or Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science Engineering or other Engineering field is preferred.
- Good programming skills in one or more Object-Oriented Programming languages (ex: MATLAB, Python, C / C++).
- Strong communication and planning skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and explain engineering procedures and concepts.
Good to have
Knowledge in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, Autonomous Systems, Wireless Communication, or Control Systems.
