Applications are invited for the posts of Software Developer to be appointed on Contractual basis for a period of one year initially and extendable based on performance of the candidate and requirement of the Institute.
About TISS
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or B.Tech in Computer Engineering or Masters in Computer Science or Masters in Computer Applications or relevant disciplines with minimum of 55% of aggregate marks. Plus Two years and more experience in Python projects.
Responsibilities
- Fully involve in the end to end software development life cycle.
- Support and Maintain existing web applications.
- Investigate functional problems, finding and fixing defects as needed.
- Write SQL queries to generate the required data. Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Core Competencies
- Experience in working with either Django (Preferred) or Flask.
- Working knowledge with database like Postgres (Preferred) or MySQLand writing SQL queries.
- Knowledge with Git or any other version control system.
- Experience working with front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, Java script. Good to have knowledge of Ajax.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Bootstrap will be given preference.

Salary
Consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000 – 60,000/- pm. The salary shall commensurate with Experience and knowledge.
