About the Organization
The BITS BioCyTiH Foundation (henceforth “The Foundation”) is a Section 8 non-profit company hosted by BITS Pilani under the National Mission of Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NMICPS) of Government of India (GOI). The mandate of the company isto fashion a platform that would foster translational research, innovation, skill development and training in areas of bio-cyberphysical systems (Bio-CPS) related to healthcare, agriculture, water and environment. The aim isto build state of the art national facilities across three campuses of BITS Pilani (viz. Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad), extend support to researchers, innovators and startups building products and
solutions. Additionally, the Foundation will establish national and international partnerships and create a network of aligned organisations.
About the Program
They seek a Project Assistant to assist in designing, assembling, and testing a prototype device for milk adulterant detection. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in electronics and coding, enjoy practical experimentation, and have a problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of hardware for prototype systems.
- Perform electronic circuit assembly, soldering, and testing.
- Write and debug code for device control and data acquisition (preferably using platforms like Arduino or similar).
- Support laboratory experiments, sample testing, and data collection.
- Collaborate closely with the core team for iterative design improvements.
- Document development processes, experimental results, and prototype performance.
- Support integration of spectroscopy-based sensing techniques into the device. (Preferred)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of basic electronics (circuit design, PCB handling, sensors, etc.).
- Proficiency in coding (Arduino, Python, or C/C++ preferred).
- Hands-on experience with soldering, breadboarding, and prototyping hardware.
- Practical problem-solving skills and an experimental mindset.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic startup environment.
Preferred
- Exposure to spectroscopy concepts (UV-Vis, NIR, or fluorescence techniques).
- Experience with building prototypes for scientific or industrial applications.
- Familiarity with basic data analysis techniques.
Salary
Rs. 30,000/ per month.
