Job Description

The Research Associate is expected to support research on the project. The work would involve data mining and analysis using techniques like machine learning (neural network analysis, support vector machines, deep learning).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, involvement in various aspects of the project such as: (a) data collection (b) preparation and verification of data (c) data analysis (d) literature review.

Required Qualification

  • A first-class master’s degree in a subject closely related to the project – Finance/Economics/Data Science/IT.
  • Proficient in programming languages and statistical software such as R, Python, SAS, etc and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with developing or modifying existing NLP (Natural Language Processing) tools for textual analysis in finance and economics and ML techniques such as neural network analysis, support vector machines, deep learning etc.
  • At least one year of research experience.

Duration

The position will be initially offered for a period of one month and may be extended by a month depending on performance. The position is based in Ahmedabad. IIMA provides access to the library and computer centre for all Research Associates. If selected, the candidate is expected to manage her/his own accommodation, outside the IIMA campus which is centrally located within the city of Ahmedabad.

Remuneration

Compensation would be commensurate with qualification and experience and as per IIMA guidelines.
