Job Description
- We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products.
- You will work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use and easier to understand.
- Work requires the use of the appropriate editorial/logical methodologies and process management.
- Writers must ensure that documentation is written in a manner that customers with limited to highly proficient technical product knowledge can understand and use the material.
Responsibilities
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text, developer and implementation guides, and product and API documentation.
- Researches and analyzes the customer’s documentation requirements; create doc plans; writes technical documentation
- Strong analytical and editorial skills; ensure all content is proofread and error-free.
- Works with limited or no supervision to pursue established goals and resolve issues as they arise
- Leads initiatives to improve content quality and usability and contributes to strategy discussions
- Be able to multi-task and handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize tasks, overcome obstacles, and complete all assigned work as per schedule.
- Performs risk analysis, identifies potential issues, and creates work estimates.
- Finds creative and practical solutions to complex problems related to the creation and maintenance of documentation.
- Quickly learns and adopts technology, tools, and processes in a fast-paced environment
- Research new trends and qualitative presentation of data to customers by keeping up to date with market competitors.
- Adapts writing style to project requirements; applies principles of minimalism
- Utilize feedback from internal teams and customers to continuously improve documentation; manage updates and revisions to all documentation
- Applies proven tech writing skills in mentoring junior and intermediate writers
Extended Responsibilities /Good to Have: - Standard knowledge of API documentation, understanding how APIs work on a high level and use of Postman or similar tools
- Decent hands-on experience with markdown language; content repositories like Git will be a plus.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years in software/technology-related fields and 3+ years’ experience in technical writing for enterprise software products,
- Experience managing customer-facing documentation portals/platforms.
- Experience developing product help documentation, and creating developer implementation and integration guides.
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable
- Experience maintaining a content repository, and optimizing content development to maximize reuse and minimize maintenance/duplication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development.
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred.
