Description
- As a PhD researcher, you will conduct Innovative Research in projects related to modelling, transducers, 3D printing, soft robotics, and mechatronics, pushing the boundaries of knowledge in these domains.
- Collaborate with leading researchers and institutions across Europe, gaining valuable experience in an international research environment. Disseminate your research findings through publications in top-tier journals and presentations at international conferences.
- In Intelligent Robotic Endoscopes (IRE) for Improved Healthcare Services we envision creating intelligent robotics solutions, extending current endoscope technology with robotics control that is based on learning from currently collected human operator data, coupled with novel bio-mechanical modelling techniques, and sensory feedback as well as soft robotics phantom for training.

- You will receive a gross monthly salary ranging from € 2770,- (first year) to € 3539,- (fourth year)

- A minimum of 232 leave hours in case of full-time employment based on a formal workweek of 38 hours. A full-time employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis

Application Requirements
You should have:
- A strong academic background with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as robotics, mechatronics, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD design software, such as Solidworks, for mechanical design and simulation.
- Experience in kinematics and dynamics analysis for robotic systems.
- Expertise in electronics integration, including sensor selection and circuit design.
- Strong programming skills with knowledge of robotic middleware, such as ROS.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques, including 3D printing and laser cutting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.
- Previous experience with medical robotics applications and familiarity with surgical procedures and environments is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An eagerness to collaborate and work in a multidisciplinary team.
