About the Fellowship
The Community Innovator Fellowship Program is an initiative of the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, in collaboration with UNDP India. It facilitates knowledge building and provides infrastructure support to aspiring community innovators, which is essential for their entrepreneurship journey.
This is a one-year-long intensive fellowship program wherein an aspiring community innovator can apply irrespective of their socio-economic background. During the course of this fellowship, each fellow will be hosted at an Atal Community Innovation Centre and will acquire SDG awareness, entrepreneurial skills, and life skills while working on her/his idea.
Eligibility
The Community Innovator Fellow is an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, with an idea to solve a community challenge through his/her enterprise.
- Literacy level – English Language proficiency (Intermediate)**
- Age – 18-35 Years
- Education – At least a bachelor’s/diploma/degree holder in any discipline from a recognized university
- Distance from the community – Residential address within 30 km from ACIC*

Mode of Delivery
The fellowship is designed to operate in a hybrid mode (both online and offline). Most of the learning material will be hosted on the digital learning platform, and interaction with the AIM team, workshops, and webinars will happen online.
The ACIC hours (12 weeks) will be spent physically at the ACIC. They can be utilised to interact with the ACIC staff and fellows from the cohort or startups, work in the ACIC labs, and attend workshops and other events. Although a fellow will be free to spend as much time in the ACIC as the fellow wants, spending a minimum of 12 weeks in ACIC will be mandatory.

Selection Process
The selection process is dependent on the host ACIC and would entail filling out a form with specific questions about your ideas and views and an interview round. Please note that there can be more rounds of selection based on ACIC’s discretion.
