About Harvard WEcode

The Harvard Women Engineers Code (WECode) Conference is the world’s largest student-run conference for women engineers. It is an annual event with 900+ attendees at Harvard University and run by a passionate group of Harvard undergraduate women in technology.

The Harvard Women Engineers Code (WECode) Conference team is hosting our annual college women in technology conference IN PERSON on February 15-16, 2025, at Harvard University. They are inviting current post-secondary students who identify as women or non-binary and have a demonstrated interest in technology to apply to our Technology Fellowship!

They will select a group of WECode Technology Fellows from across the country. If chosen, you will be a leader in the women in tech space, partnering with their Harvard student team to publicize the LARGEST student-run women in technology conference in the world via personal social media, digital communities/networks, and local outreach, and gain leadership experience in the women in tech space. Fellows will enjoy exclusive perks, including a free ticket to the conference, networking opportunities, and access to community resources.

Fellowship Details

WECode is hosting our annual conference from February 15-16, 2025, a two-day in-person event primarily for undergraduate women engineers, with chances to hear from industry professionals in various fields, cultivate networks with fellow students in tech, and learn what the exciting world of technology has to offer.

They will select a group of Harvard Tech Fellows from the country for this conference. If chosen, you will partner with our Harvard team to publicize our WECode Conference for undergraduates via social media, digital networks, and local outreach and gain leadership experience in the women in tech space.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be an undergraduate student who identifies as a woman, non-binary, genderfluid or other gender minorities
  • Have a demonstrated interest in technology (all levels welcome!)

Responsibilities

  • All Fellows:
    • Ambassadors must gather 5+ students to attend the conference.
    • Conduct outreach to the CS department for group ticket discounts for students from your school.
    • Distinguished Fellow Leadership Award:
      • Fellows who actively participate in our 3 committees’ community events are candidates to be Distinguished Fellows (see below). Extra publicization & students gathered count towards this distinction.
  • Lead Fellows:
    • 6 Lead Fellows will spearhead 3 committees, leading community engagement & women in tech initiatives and general Fellow duties. Lead Fellows will automatically be considered for the Distinguished Fellows application. Example activities are below:
    • Professional Development Lead Fellows will facilitate Tech Fellow coffee chats, source professional speakers, organize a virtual speaker series, and moderate workshops on professional development.
    • Digital Media Lead Fellows will write and edit guest blog posts featured on the WECode site, lead news outreach efforts, and create content for WECode’s official social media channels (IG/TikTok).
    • Peer Engagement Lead Fellows will build a strong WECode community by designing Tech Fellow merch, hosting virtual social events, and encouraging discussions.
  • Outreach:
    • Personal: Posting on your social media (IG, FB, LinkedIn, etc.), at least 2x each
    • Digital (ex: girls in tech groups, previous coding camps): at least 2x each, if any
    • Local: at least 2 clubs/lists in your school, AND friends’ networks from 2 other schools: at least 1x each
  • Attendance: You must attend the conference at Harvard University on February 15-16!
