Job Details
The company is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Apprentice on a one-year contract. This is an excellent opportunity to launch a career in software testing and quality engineering. The role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and the chance to contribute to the development of high-quality, reliable applications. As an SDET Apprentice, the individual will build skills in automation testing, scripting, and performance testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of flawless software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts for web and mobile applications.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test data for new and existing software applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand software requirements and design efficient testing strategies.
- Perform manual testing for scenarios that cannot be automated and report bugs and defects.
- Help in the identification and troubleshooting of performance issues in applications.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality standards are met.
- Contribute to the development of testing frameworks and tools for automating repetitive tasks.
- Work closely with QA Engineers and developers to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Engage in learning sessions to further enhance your technical and testing skills.
- Provide regular updates to team leads and stakeholders about the status of testing efforts.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (2024 graduates only).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit) is desirable.
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) is beneficial.
- A solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with a proactive attitude toward learning.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for ensuring quality.
