Job Description
- The Amazon Device OS team is looking for high-energy, detail-oriented, and technically-savvy Lab Engineer who will implement solutions like creating rig setups to reduce the repeated manual testing and to improve the overall test efficiency.
 - You will collaborate effectively with stakeholders, understand their requirements during rigs creation and make refinements accordingly.
 - You must understand schematics and specifications of devices, remotes etc., to reverse engineer and rework hardware.
 - You may contribute to the design and development of prototype hardware using 3D printing and coral drawings.
 - You should be able to operate shop tools like soldering machines, hand drillers, hot guns etc. during the process of rigs creation and actively participate in maintaining a safe, clean and efficient lab.
 - You must create SOPs, educate partner teams during handover of Rigs/proto types for ease of operation and maintenance.
 - You will actively participate in team meetings, project planning, prioritization discussions, solicit and process feedback for solutions proposed.
 - You communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, tend to over-communicate and over-document.
 
Responsibilities
- Maintaining all aspects of labs, equipment resources, including hardware and software, update all lab infrastructure, equipment, and software configurations.
 - Ensure availability of test equipment and parts.
 - Understanding customer use cases, strong device/system troubleshooting skills down to component and software levels.
 - Organize and maintain stock of critical test equipment, third party devices, prototype devices for troubleshooting and debug
 - Collaborate with stakeholders, understand their requirements and implement solutions like creating rig setups to enable automation and reduce the manual efforts for testing

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering (Electrical, Electronics Mechatronics) or related field
 - Experience in handling digital circuits, PCB, Arduino controllers, relays and motors etc.,
 - Experience in creating rigs or mini robots to reduce manual efforts
 - Experience using lab equipment including soldering irons, hand-tools, drill machines etc.,
 - Strong knowledge on Python
 - Working knowledge on Devices/Agile frameworks for testing and familiarity with Defect management tools is a plus
 
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering (Electrical, Electronics Mechatronics) or related field
