The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3.

The university offers 250 programs in post-secondary education awarding bachelors, masters, and doctorate (PhD) degrees. The University of Calgary has developed a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs.[14] The campus has an area of 200 hectares (490 acres) and hosts 14 faculties, 55 departments and 85 research institutes and centre (see Canadian university scientific research organizations).

Award description

  • Offered annually to undergraduate international students entering first year in any undergraduate degree in the upcoming fall term who have satisfied the university’s English Language Proficiency requirement. Renewable in the second, third and fourth year at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student.
  • International students who are required to pay international tuition fees and who are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada
  • Academic merit.

Award payment

To receive award payment you must continue to meet the terms of reference for your award and maintain full-time registration of at least 9 units per term during the upcoming fall and winter terms.

The value of your award is applied directly to your tuition and fees. In most cases, award payments are split equally between the fall and the winter terms.  Any remaining award funds are paid to you by direct deposit on October 25 for the fall term and on February 25 for the winter term. These excess award funds are referred to as “Payout of Scholarship Refunds.”
