About the Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship
The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation is a non-profit organization set up by an endowment from Mr. Narotam Sekhsaria, a visionary entrepreneur with a strong sense of social commitment.
A University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) graduate with distinction, he promoted Gujarat Ambuja Cements and led the organisation to become the most efficient cement company in India.
In 2002, he established the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation to undertake activities in the areas of health, education and employment generation by designing its programmes and also by partnering with other organizations to support their projects.
His vision to recognize and promote intellectual excellence gave birth to this scholarship programme.
The Foundation, through its scholarship for post-graduation, aims to enable meritorious students to pursue postgraduate studies at prestigious institutions in India and abroad.

Application Process
The application process at the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation assesses the students applying for its interest-free PG scholarship loan which follows a rigorous assessment system. The scholarship, each year, is awarded to a set of Indian students who have a consistently high academic record.
All applications for Narotam Sekhsaria’s scholarships for post-graduation are invited by the Foundation in January for every academic year.
- Step 1: Applications will open on January 4th 2024. You can pre-register now here.
- Step 2: Once successfully registered, the applicant must log in using the email address and password created during the registration process.
- Step 3: Applicant to make the payment of Rs. 500/- online in order the access the application form.
- Step 4: Applicant to fill in the details in ‘Full Application Part 1-2-3’ and submit the form. Note: An automated confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address.
- Step 5: Applicants shortlisted for the next phase of the selection process will be required to upload the requested documents.
- Step 6: Shortlisted candidates will need to attend interviews, which will be scheduled between April and June 2024.
- Step 7: Selected scholars will also be required to attend an Orientation Programme in July 2024. Attendance is mandatory for both the interviews and the Orientation Programme.
- Please Note: The deadline of application is March 14, 2024. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered and the form must be submitted by March 14, 2024.
What are the eligibility criteria for the Postgraduate Scholarships?
– Indian nationals, residing in India.
– Applicants below 30 years of age.
– Graduates of an accredited Indian University (students in the final year of the degree course, or those awaiting results are also eligible).
– Applicants planning to pursue Master’s, or PhD degrees at top-ranking institutions starting the fall semester.
– Applicants who have applied and waiting on their acceptance from the university are also eligible to apply but the award of a scholarship is subject to securing admission.
Can an applicant register with different email IDs?
No, an applicant cannot register with different email IDs nor is it possible to change the email address once registered.
Can the form be downloaded and sent by post?
The application form can ONLY be submitted online. You will be able to access your application by logging in to your account.
When does one attach documents with the application form?
The required documents need to be uploaded online if selected for Phase 2 of the application process.
Can one make changes to the application form?
Yes. You have the option of updating and changing the application form until it is submitted.
When will the interviews be held?
The chosen candidates will have to attend an interview sometime during May/June 2024. The Interview and Orientation are mandatory and the scholarship is subject to you attending both.
How are the candidates informed?
All candidates are informed via email.
In case an applicant can not travel to Mumbai for the interview, will it be possible to have a telephone interview or a Skype interview?
Unfortunately, no. The in-person interview is mandatory.
Are the candidates reimbursed for their travel and accommodation for the Scholarship Interviews?
No. The candidates will not be reimbursed for their travel and accommodation for the in-person interview.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No, the registration fee is not refundable. The fee is a one-time payment and will not be returned to the applicant whether or not they are successful in their scholarship application. So please check the eligibility criteria before applying. You can find the eligibility criteria here.
