About the For Young Women in Science Scholarship

L’Oréal India invites applications from young women who have passed Class 12 in 2023 and wish to pursue higher education in science for L’Oréal India For Young Women In Science Scholarships 2023. The scholarships will be granted to promising economically disadvantaged young women. Selected women scholars will receive financial aid to cover college fees for graduation studies in any scientific field (Pure Sciences/Applied Sciences/Engineering/Medical, etc.) at a recognized college or university in India.

L’Oréal India is offering this scholarship to support and encourage young women to pursue higher education in the science stream. The programme was instituted in 2003 and it has consistently helped young women to pursue graduation studies in science and scientific streams.

The L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science (FYWIS) Scholarship is a countrywide initiative which encourages and supports young women to pursue their careers in science.

This programme was instituted in 2003 and has empowered over 385 young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to pursue their higher education in any scientific field from a recognised college or university in India. A scholarship of INR 250,000 is awarded to each of the promising young women and covers their college fees.

By providing them with financial assistance to pursue scientific education, this scholarship reinforces the vocation of women in scientific disciplines. The FYWIS scholarship encourages women, who would probably otherwise discontinue their education, to pursue the study in their chosen field.

L’Oréal India’s ‘For Young Women in Science’ programme is an extension of the international L’Oréal UNESCO for Women in Science partnership.
