About SDEF Scholarship
The Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship Scheme has been introduced to assist poor and meritorious students pursuing Engineering, Medical and Architectural Courses in various India.
Scholarship Amount
Eligibility
- Our scholarships will be provided to only students, who studied in government or aided schools in 10th grade. Children studying in private schools in 10th grade are not eligible for our scholarships. If you are studying at a school affiliated with state boards, please let us know in advance so that we can process your application separately.
- The scholarship is available for all undergraduate courses– engineering, medical, architecture, etc. and other undergraduate courses.
- Secured atleast 80% in CBSE Board or 70% or above Marks in Other Boards in 12th Class
- CGPA of at least 8.0 for Second year students
- Annual Family Income should be less than Rs 8 Lacs per annum
- Only first and second year students are allowed to apply for this program
- Only one year drop is allowed for technical courses
- All India Overall Rank should be less than 90,000 for Engineering & Architecture courses and 40,000 for medical courses
- Age limit – 19 years for first year students and 20 years for second year students

- 10th and 12th Marksheets/Certificates.
- Academic Marksheets for all semesters/term-wise scores.
- Seat Allotment Letter.
- Copy of Fee Receipts.
- Copy of Education loan (If any)
- Family Income Proof- Salary Certificate/Salary Slip (For 3 Months)/IT Return Form/Pension Copy.
- Utility Bills (Electricity, Gas, Telephone, Water) of last six months.
- Bank Statement of last one year.
- Reference letter from two neighbors.
- Agricultural land documents/Pics of Shop/Self declaration as per proforma given in application form.
- House Pictures – Inside and Outside (4 photos) & Family Photograph.
- Academic excellence/Awards if any
- Any other relevant document as declared in the application form
- Video telling us about Swami Dayanand Saraswati
- Video on reciting full Vande Mataram of 6 stanzas
- This year the Application Process will be online. Interested students meeting the eligibility criteria can apply by clicking the “APPLY NOW” button below. The receiving of online applications will start from 9th June 2024. The last date to apply for the scholarship is 31st December 2024.
Terms & Conditions
- Candidates should fill out the applications themselves. Applicants and their parents must sign the last page of the application and mail it or upload it with the application.
- We are also restricting the gap year’s requirements to a maximum of one year. If you have taken two or more years of drop, you will not be eligible for our scholarships, as we feel it is unfair to the students who have not taken a drop or one year at the most. Preference will be given to students who have not taken a drop year after school.
- After reviewing candidates last year, we are changing the minimum annual family income limits. We want to help the section of society with an income upto Rs 8 lacs who are not getting any fee waiver from the institute or college. Preference will be given to students who can submit salary slips, income tax returns, or documents verifying their parents’ income. Please let us know if your parents can speak Hindi or English.
- Every scholarship applicant needs to provide two income verification letters from their neighbors who are not related and pay income tax. This requirement is for students whose families have no salary slips or verifiable income. The neighbors should be fluent in Hindi or English and available for telephone call verification.
- We are now restricting fresh scholarship applications from students in their first or second year of engineering and medicine courses. If you are studying in BSc /BA/B Com, we only provide scholarships to first-year students.
- Our scholarships are paid directly to the institute. They can only be used to pay college fees. SDEF does not allow any other use of the scholarship.
- Our scholarship process will consist of five steps:
- Prequalify for scholarship
- Application for scholarship
- Preliminary screening
- Final interview with the founder
- Meeting/ verification of home /parents

A. Yes, you can apply for the scholarship. This year, we have increased the maximum income limit to Rs 8 Lacs per annum
Q. What is the last date to apply for Scholarship.
A. The last date is not fixed by the foundation. The students are advised to apply early to avail the scholarship
Q. What is the deadline for scholarship form submission
A. There is no deadline as of now, the scholarship is open till we complete selecting the no. of students.
