Building on the success of the inaugural cohort, Oxfam in Asia and Asia Centre are thrilled to announce the 2nd Cohort of the Oxfam Young Leaders Fellowship Programme in Asia. This transformative initiative aims to equip the selected young leaders with tools, skills, knowledge and networks to drive positive change in their communities. Through close mentorship and hands-on practice, this initiative offers an invaluable opportunity for fellows to strengthen their capacity to make and sustain social change happen.

  • Eligibility: Prospective young fellows must meet the following criteria:
    • Aged 27 or below.
    • Be a citizen of one of the following countries within Oxfam in Asia offices: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.
  • Task: Dedicate a minimum of 30-40 hours per week to implement the proposed activities agreed with mentors for 9 months from the starting date.

India Fellow is an 18-month transformative social leadership program for curious professionals from various walks of life, willing to live and work alongside communities and find their leadership potential to bring social change. It is an experiential journey to immerse in our country’s realities and be our best version to build a better future.

  • Eligibility:
    • You are between 21 to 30 years
    • You are ready for an 18-month full-time commitment to the fellowship

6. Sambhaavnaa Youth Fellowship Program 2024 [PG; Stipend Rs. 10k+Accommodation; June 1-Jan 31]: Apply Now!

This is the second edition of our 8 month fellowship program for youth. The program foresees following capacity building skills for the fellows. Understanding of the social-political issues currently facing our society, Learn from and interact with activists and academics facilitating the Sambhaavnaa workshops, Learning the process of organising Sambhaavnaa workshops in their entirety and 4-6 week internship to a grassroots organisation or some contemporary campaign.

  • Eligibility: The Fellowship is open to all Indian citizens who meet the following eligibility criteria:
    • Between 23-30 years
    • Qualification – Master’s degree
    • Good command over both English and Hindi; Should be able to write well in one of these languages, too.
    • Basic knowledge of IT, Social Media, Zoom, MS Office, etc.
    • Knowledge of basic video editing will be an added value.
  • Period: June 1st, 2024 to January 31st, 2025

7. IIHS Urban Fellows Programme 2024-25 [9 Months; Scholarship Available]: Admissions Open!

UFP is a scholarship-based, nine-month, full-time, residential, interdisciplinary programme, based at the IIHS, Bengaluru City Campus. The Programme is open to recent graduates and young professionals – applications are invited from varied educational backgrounds and practice domains.

The UFP classroom is rich and unmatched because of the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences Fellows bring, enhancing peer-to-peer learning and being a key driver to the experience of being an IIHS Fellow at the UFP. 

The programme has had 300 Fellows, including the eighth batch that will graduate in 2024. UFP Alumni work across India and globally – about 85% of Fellows work or study across 18 states and 23 cities in India; nearly 15% of Fellows have returned to higher education, studying at 50 universities, including 11 of the top 20 global universities across 5 continents and 15 countries. They work across sectors, disciplines and scales.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject or discipline
    • The candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years at the time of the UFP’s commencement. Therefore, candidates should be born on or after 1 August 1994
    • The UFP may, subject to facts and circumstances, consider non-degree training and certification programmes completed after 10+2 schooling.
    • Candidates without any formal education after their 10+2 may also apply, especially if they have valuable experience in formal or informal work in urban sectors.

8. NGFP Fellowship 2024 for All Graduates by School of International Futures Ltd. [Fully Funded]: Apply by May 31

The fellowship allows young professionals to gain more support as they explore the future and foresight fields. We know that being a futurist can be a lonely place and a sort of practice that young people, particularly, do on the side of their daily jobs, usually for free.

The fellowship is a way to provide the next generation of futures and foresight enthusiasts with a platform to connect with like-minded people worldwide, receive mentorship and build foresight capability, participate in regional and sector-specific hubs, and access funding to develop their foresight projects. Fellows also have the opportunity to participate in highly relevant events in the futures and foresight field and connect with today’s decision-makers at the highest levels.

9. NGO Fellowship Program 2024 by Taiwan Aid [Fully Funded]: Apply by June 1

The NGO Fellowship Program is a one-month opportunity for professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia (including Japan, South Korea, and Mongolia) to gain first-hand experience in the Taiwanese NGO sector. The Program includes workshops, a three-week NGO placement, and roundtable events with the fellows’ Taiwanese counterparts.

  • Eligibility:
    • Age: NGO professionals from 25 to 40 years old.
    • Professions: Community development, environment, education, gender, human rights, media and information technology, LGBTQ+, medical service, and social welfare. Outstanding applicants from other NGO fields will also be considered.
    • Experience: At least three years of work experience in the NGO sector. Demonstrated professional excellence, independent and self-motivated, able to complete an independent fellowship.
