About IIEST

IIEST, Shibpur (Erstwhile “Bengal Engineering College”) ranks 27th in NIRF-2021 among Engineering Institutes. It is the first college to become Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) in India in 2014. The Institute has a rich history.

It is empowering the nation since 1856. Considering the year of establishment, it is the 3rd engineering college in India but considering the year of graduation it is the 2nd oldest engineering college in India. About the Program

Applications are invited from eligible candidates (Indian Nationals) for the following post under a sponsored research project funded by DSTBT, Govt. of West Bengal, in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, Howrah-711 103.

Name of the Post :- Junior Research Fellow.

Eligibility

B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution.

Maximum 32 years as on the last date of application (Age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/
Woman/PwD candidates. Age limit is relaxable up to 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates.).

Duration

3 years or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. Initially, the appointment will be made for one year and will be extended as per the rule.

Salary and other Benefits

  • Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated) for the first two years and Rs. 30,000/- per month (Consolidated) in the third year.
  • The selected candidates may be eligible to register for the Ph.D. program at IIEST, Shibpur, as per institute rules. However, the candidate needs to apply for the Ph.D. program at the time of the advertisement for admission to the Ph.D. program.
