About Taiwan Aid
Established by Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation, Zhi-Shan Foundation Taiwan, Eden Social Welfare Foundation, Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps, and Field Relief Agency of Taiwan in 2004 and registered in 2013, Taiwan AID (Taiwan Alliance in International Development) is a platform for Taiwan-based nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) with nearly 30 members working all over the world. Members are involved in various sectors, such as medical service, education, information, gender issues, emergency relief, community development, human trafficking, humanitarian assistance, and volunteer service.
About Fellowship
The NGO Fellowship Program is a one-month opportunity for professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia (including Japan, South Korea, and Mongolia) to gain first-hand experience in the Taiwanese NGO sector. The Program includes workshops, a three-week NGO placement, and roundtable events with the fellows’ Taiwanese counterparts.
Key Features
- NGO Placement: The fellows will be placed in Taiwan’s NGO according to their professional backgrounds. The host NGOs will welcome the fellows for three weeks, during which time they can engage in daily operations and get to know Taiwanese NGOs. Depending on the nature of the NGOs, fellows will engage in diverse activities, such as event preparation, project management, or fundraising activities.
- Workshop: At the program’s start, the fellows will attend a four-day workshop to deepen their knowledge of NGOs.
- Roundtable Event: The fellows will attend a roundtable event with Taiwanese NGO professionals during the program. They can share their practical experiences and observations in the field.
- Future Project Collaboration: At the end of the program, fellows will be expected to propose a project draft for future cooperation in their home countries. The program will give fellows and host NGOs opportunities to explore future cooperation.
