International Institute of Information Technology Bhubaneswar was established by the Government of Odisha in 2006. It is designed to be a premier Institute of Information Technology and related areas. IIIT Bhubaneswar aims to carry out higher learning, research and development activities in the field of Information Technology.
About the Position
The Institute is seeking good applicants to be recruited as Post-Doctoral Research Fellows (PDRFs)/ Research Associates (RAs). This program is awarded for scholarly development and career advancement for individuals who have obtained a doctoral degree. Aim is to provide opportunities to young researchers to pursue active research and teaching in their respective field of specialization (or an interdisciplinary field).
It is a full-time program with an initial assignment of one year, extendable for another two years subject to satisfactory progress. Under this scheme, PDRFs/ RAs will carry out advanced research at the Institute, preferably with a faculty member as a mentor.
Eligibility
- Candidates with a Ph.D. Degree from institutions of high repute from India and abroad can apply within five years of completion of their Ph.D. The thesis must be in an appropriate discipline.
- Those who have submitted their thesis for Ph.D. degree may also apply. However, such candidates are expected to complete the Ph.D. programme and submit provisional degree certificate at the time of Interview.
- Applicants must have a good academic record with first class or equivalent grade in all preceding degrees in appropriate discipline and demonstrated research potential.
- Age limit for applications for the PDRFs/ RAs is 35 years (relax able as per Govt. norms)

How to Apply?
- Applicants are required to send the attested copies of documents along with their Bio-data as mentioned below. All the documents should be sent to the Registrar with the superscription on the envelope as “Application for PDF/RA Programme’’.

Bio-data
Age proof certificate
Qualification certificates and mark sheets
Category certificate (for age relaxation)
Two letters of recommendation (One preferably from the Ph.D. Supervisor)
Top three research publications
Statement of purpose (one page write up showcasing the purpose of applying for this position)
Research proposal (3-4 pages) for three years
Teaching plan for three years
A Demand Draft of Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favor of “IIIT Bhubaneswar” is required to be deposited.
Stipend
- Each fellowship will carry a monthly Stipend as per Government norms (Rs. 58,000/- + HRA as per the norm of the Institute)
- Office space will be provided to PDRFs/ RAs along with necessary infrastructure. They will be issued special research library card, enabling them to borrow up to ten books from the library at a time.
- An annual research contingency of Rs. 30,000/- will be provided for research related expenditures.
Selection Process
Applications received will be reviewed periodically by a committee constituted by the Institute. The shortlisted candidates will be called for presentation/personal interview. The criteria for the evaluation will be:
- Scope of the research proposal and availability of suitable expert in the proposed domain.
- Suitability of the application with respect to the objectives of the position.
- Scientific quality of the proposed research proposal.
- Strength of the candidate’s Bio data on the basis of degrees, publications, career plan etc.
- The applicant’s understanding of the research domain, tools, software, hardware to be used
