About NIT Calicut
National Institute of Technology Calicut is one of the premier technical institutions in India. It is set in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, located on the Calicut- Mukkam road, about 22km from Calicut City. The institute offers nine undergraduate and twenty postgraduate programmes apart from the PhD programme under different departments. The institute has good computing and information technology infrastructure, laboratories, and a hi-tech Nalanda digital library.
Project Details
The prestigious Core Research Grant project is sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Working on the project would allow the research staff to gain in-depth knowledge in Computer Architecture, Virtualization and Automatic Generation of Simulators for specialized processors, such as AI processors and those enhanced for security.
The project offers enthusiastic young scientists/engineers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced faculty and research groups in the CSE Dept of NITC and be mentored by them to shape their research careers in front-end technology. There are two vacancies: one for a postdoctoral position (Research Associate-I) and one for a JRF (Junior Research Fellow).
Qualifications
Junior Research Fellow
- B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Electronics and Communication with a 6.0 CGPA or 60% marks Or
- Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in Computer Science and Engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (or) CGPA of 6.0/10 CSIR/UGC-NET (Equivalent qualification/fellowship) or GATE score at any time.
Desirable
- Experience in Python Programming
- Experience in web interface development
- Proficiency in technical writing in English
Research Associate
Ph. D in Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering from recognized Universities/Institutes with at least one paper published in a leading journal/Tier1 conference, with CSIR/UGC-NET (Equivalent qualification/fellowship) or GATE score at any point in time.

Good programming skills and experience

Salary
- Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA as applicable
- Research Associate: Rs. 58,000/- per month + HRA as applicable

Important Details
- The last date of application is 5 PM on 28th June 2024.
- Shortlisted candidates must report to the National Institute of Technology Calicut, NIT Campus (P.O), Calicut 673601, on 1 July 2024 at 10:00 AM. The selection process is based on a test / technical interview.
- The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information and other documents

- The selection committee’s decision is final. Canvassing in any form will result in the candidature being rejected.
- The tenure of the project staff is co-terminus with the project.
- Selected candidates cannot claim regular/ part-time appointments in this institute or any other during this period. However, the selected candidates may be allowed to join PhD program under the project category per the Institute’s norms.
