About Physical Research Laboratory
To commemorate the vision of Prof. Vikram Sarabhai, PRL has initiated a new Fellowship program called “Vikram Sarabhai Postdoctoral Fellowship (VISHWAS)” for highly motivated young doctorates with a proven record of excellence in research and who propose to pursue disruptive and cutting-edge research in fundamental science that has societal implications in research areas related to those being pursued in PRL.
PRL is located in the western part of Ahmedabad, known as “Navrangpura”. Many other premier Academic Institutions, such as the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), Space Applications Centre (SAC), Sardar Patel Institute of Administration (SPIPA), Ahmedabad Textile Industrial Research Association (ATIRA) and Gujarat University are also located in this region.
About Vikram Sarabhai Postdoctoral Fellowship

| Scholarship amount: | One Lakh Rupees per month, plus HRA and other facilities as per PRL/DOS rules. |
| Duration | Maximum 2 years, renewal after successful annual reviews every year; can be extended by one more year if justified and approved. |
| Eligibility criteria | Indian nationals holding a PhD (within four years of the award of degree), under 35 years of age on the last date of the application, and having first-class throughout the academic career. |
| Selection criteria | Shortlisting will be based on applicant’s academic credentials, research proposal, and recommendations from three reviewers. Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview (in June/July 2024) either online or in person for final selection. |

Eligibility Criteria
- Doctorate (Ph. D.)/thesis submitted for Ph.D. in any field of Science or Engineering. However, the area of research should be compatible and related to those pursued in PRL.
- The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for the interview.
- Only after the initial screening of the application and considering the merit of the submitted research proposal, the candidates found suitable will be called for an interview at PRL.
Nationality
The candidate for Post-Doctoral Fellowships must be an Indian citizen and should have studied at recognized Universities/Institutes in India.
