Award description Scholarship 2024
- Our Warwick Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarship is your invitation to join us in the creation of knowledge that can change both the world, and your own career opportunities. It is our way of showing that there is no barrier to talent.
- In 2023 Warwick awarded scholarships totalling just under £1.5 million to students from more than 40 different nationalities worldwide.
- For 2024 entry there will be up to 20 full-fee awards, up to 170 half-fee awards and up to 20, £2,000 awards.
Eligibility
- Applicants must:
- Be self-funded*
- You are considered to be a self-funded student if you are financing your studies with your own savings or if you are receiving financial assistance from family or friends. If you take out a student loan to cover the cost of your studies you are also considered to be self-funded.
- You are not self-funded if your fees are being paid by your employer or a third party (other than family and friends) or if you are in receipt of a study grant or scholarship external to the University.
- Be classed as an ‘overseas’ or ‘international-fee paying’ student for tuition fee purposes
- Have applied for a full-time undergraduate course at the University of Warwick starting in Autumn 2024 before the UCAS application deadline of 31 January 2024. The course can be from any subject area (including our Foundation courses, but excluding the MBChB course). For a full list of our undergraduate courses, please visit our study pages.
- Submit a scholarship application before 12:00pm on Wednesday 20th March 2024 BST
- By 16th May 2024 you must be in receipt of an offer of a place to study at Warwick starting September 2024
- Be self-funded*
How to apply?
- Applications will open on 1st February 2024.
- Eligible international applicants will be contacted with details on how to formally apply for the scholarship.
- Please note: In order to apply for the scholarship you must first set up an IT account which can take up to 48 hours to verify. Once this is done, many of the application fields will be completed for you and any areas that need supporting information or statements from you will be clearly indicated on the application form.
- Applicants will be required to answer the question “What makes you excellent?”
- The objective is to learn more about what motivates you, how your excellence might benefit the Warwick community and how you hope your learning and experience at Warwick will help you make the World a better place once you graduate.
- Answers can reference academic attainment, extracurricular successes and personal achievement but should not be a copy of the personal statement. You may write in essay or extended bullet point form but please don’t simply write a list. You should provide context and relevance to the objectives above. Responses are limited to 150 words.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship offered by the University of Warwick?
Yes, you can apply for multiple scholarships, just make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria for any scholarships you are applying for.
Can I be offered more than one University of Warwick scholarship?
Yes, as long as the scholarships you are offered do not exceed 100% of the tuition fees and/or living costs the scholarships provide.
Do I need to include my intention to apply for this scholarship on my UCAS form?
No. There is no need to include anything relating to this scholarship on your UCAS form.
Can I apply for admission to a course at the university and a scholarship at the same time?
No. You must first apply for a course at the university through UCAS. Within a few days of submitting your UCAS application form, if you are eligible for the Warwick Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarship, you will be contacted directly by us and invited to apply for this scholarship.
