The Department of Polymer and Process Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee
(Saharanpur Campus) invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for a post-doctoral position under the mentorship of Prof. Gaurav Manik at the Department of Polymer and Process Engineering focused on “In-depth Modelling, simulations and optimization of parabolic trough solar collectors and integration with energy-intensive industrial processes for meeting process heat requirements through sustainable solar energy”.
Qualifications
- B.Tech, M.Tech, PhD in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology/ Energy Engineering/ Process
Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Polymer Science & Engineering/ Production Engineering/
Instrumentation and Control/ Electronics & Communication/ or equivalent/ related areas. - Knowledge/ Experience in process modelling/ simulation/ computing is preferable.
Duration and Fellowship
The fellowship duration will be two years, extendable by one more year. The fellowship amount is Rs.
55,000/- per month for the first two years and Rs. 60,000/- per month for the third year, and a contingency amount of Rs. 50,000/- per year will be awarded to the Postdoctoral fellow (PDF).

Important Note
- Post-doctoral fellows will be registered as students and may avail of library facilities, computer centres, hospital facilities, etc.
- Depending upon availability, they may also get shelter accommodation (on a payment basis). They will be entitled to 2.5 days of leave per complete calendar month.
- No carry forward for leave will be allowed beyond a calendar year.
- PDF positions are purely temporary. The benefits applicable to permanent employees like LTC and PDA are not applicable.
- The screened candidates will be called for an interview, preferably offline.
