About the Founder
The vision behind the Satvik Karma Foundation is shaped by the remarkable career and philanthropic commitment of Kuldip Kaura, a seasoned business leader with decades of experience serving as CEO in large public companies across India and the UK, including ABB, Vedanta, and Holcim-ACC.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate from BITS Pilani (1968), Mr. Kaura has also pursued executive education from the Swedish Institute of Management and the London Business School. His extensive involvement in CSR initiatives, particularly in the mining sector, deepened his interest in education, youth empowerment, and social impact.
After retiring from corporate leadership, he joined Social Venture Partners (SVP), where he played an important role in several education-focused initiatives, including TEACH and USF, helping students secure meaningful employment and develop critical thinking skills. His philanthropic journey has directly supported students from low-income households, BITS Pilani scholars, IIT BHU students, and aspirants from the Apna Sapna Program. An avid golfer and lifelong learner, Mr. Kaura continues to invest his time and expertise in shaping impactful educational efforts across India.
About Satvik Karma Foundation
The Satvik Karma Foundation, recently incorporated, is a formal extension of Mr. Kaura’s decades-long philanthropic work. The foundation aims to create structured, scalable, and sustained educational opportunities, particularly for engineering aspirants from underserved communities. One of its flagship initiatives, the Apna Sapna Program, provides JEE preparation support to students from modest socio-economic backgrounds. Successful batches in Udaipur and a new cohort in Nashik reflect the growing reach and impact of this effort. The foundation now seeks to strengthen and expand these initiatives through the RISE 360 Scholarship, deepening its commitment to equitable access in engineering education.
